Analisis Konflik Penyerangan Asrama Papua di Surabaya Tahun 2019 : Solusi Berbasis Nilai Komunikasi Islam
Main Article Content
Abstract
The attack on the Papua student dormitory in Surabaya in 2019 reflects social tensions fueled by discrimination and ethnic differences. This study analyzes the incident from the perspective of Islamic communication, focusing on the principles of justice, ukhuwah (brotherhood), and musyawarah (deliberation) in conflict resolution. Using content analysis of media reports from Kompas and iNews, this study demonstrates that media plays a significant role in shaping public opinion, which can either exacerbate or ease social tensions. Islamic communication offers a peaceful approach, emphasizing values of brotherhood, justice, and dialogue between conflicting groups. The findings reveal that the application of Islamic values in Indonesia’s social context can provide constructive solutions to address differences, reduce tensions, and foster harmony in a diverse society. The study concludes that communication based on Islamic principles is highly relevant in creating peaceful and sustainable conflict resolution, while strengthening unity and justice amidst Indonesia’s social diversity.
