Abstract

In today's rapid technological era, gadgets cannot be separated from everyday life. Gadgets are used by all groups including children. Children who use gadgets really need to be supervised and controlled so that negative things do not happen. The role of parents is very important in this case, so parents must communicate well with their children and have high emotional closeness. Communication that can be used by parents with children is interpersonal communication. This study aims to analyze how interpersonal communication between parents and children in controlling children using gadgets. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a literature review approach. The results of this study are that there are various ways to prevent children from being addicted to gadgets, limiting children in using gadgets, supervising children, being a good example for children, doing activities without using gadgets, giving advice to children and making rules/agreements on the use of gadgets in the family. In parenting, do not use gadgets as part of the parenting pattern because it will interfere with the child's growth and development and their mental health will be disturbed.
