Kesenian Tongklek sebagai Upaya Pelestarian Budaya dan Penguatan Ekonomi Masyarakat Lokal di Tuban Jawa Timur

Tongklek art is taken from the word "Tong" which takes from the name of the instrument "Kentongan", and "Lek" which takes from the word "Melek". Over time, this art is combined with Gamelan instruments such as Saron, Bonang and also Gong. Until now, it is a combination of traditional and modern instruments, especially in the Tuban area, East Java. This study only discusses the relationship of Tongklek art to the preservation of cultural preservation and also the positive impact of improving the economy of the Tuban community with Tongklek art. This study uses a qualitative method. Data sources are taken from interviews with art observers and also art practitioners. This study is discussed descriptively with an inductive model that takes facts and then draws several theories. The main result of this study is that Tongklek art has a positive impact on cultural preservation as evidenced by Gamelan instruments such as Saron, Bonang and Gong, song lyrics that use Javanese, and old Javanese songs that are still widely performed. The positive economic impact is increased sales from street vendors, MSMEs, and the local community.
