LITERASI LINGKUNGAN PESISIR MELALUI PENGENALAN JENIS-JENIS IKAN PADA ANAK USIA DINI

The low level of cultural literacy in early childhood in coastal areas is caused by early childhood education (PAUD) which still focuses on reading, writing, and arithmetic skills and has not optimally utilized local cultural potential. This study aims to describe coastal-based cultural literacy learning through the introduction of local fish species to early childhood in Lamongan Regency. This study positions cultural literacy as part of contextual learning that supports the formation of children's cultural identity and understanding. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with teachers and early childhood children selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that play-based learning and direct experience, such as playing fish cards, observing the coastal environment, and cooking fish, can increase children's knowledge of local fish species, foster curiosity, and support the holistic development of language, cognitive, social-emotional, and character.
