Dialektika Pendidikan Agama Islam di Pesisir dan Pedalaman: Komparasi Praktik, Penilaian, dan Konteks Sosio-Kultural

This study aims to provide a comparative analysis of practices, assessments, and socio-cultural contexts of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in coastal and inland regions of Indonesia. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, the research identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes empirical findings from national and international academic sources published within the last decade. The SLR process follows the PRISMA framework, encompassing stages of identification, screening, and thematic synthesis. The findings reveal substantial differences between the two settings: coastal Islamic education demonstrates a multidimensional, adaptive, and culturally integrated approach with a comprehensive and competency-based assessment system, while inland Islamic education is characterized by traditional, simple, and spiritually oriented practices with evaluations centered on faith, worship, and morality. The study identifies four determining factors influencing these variations Islamization history, socio-cultural interactions, human resource access, and economic conditions. Theoretical synthesis suggests that integrating both models combining the spiritual depth of inland education with the adaptability of coastal education could form the foundation for a contextual, local wisdom-based Islamic curriculum. The study contributes to Islamic education discourse by proposing an integrative conceptual model that can guide educators and policymakers in strengthening students’ religious and social character across diverse Indonesian contexts.
