Dari Komunitas Menuju Masyarakat Empirik: Internalisasi Nilai Aswaja pada Perempuan Pesisir Utara

The rising trend of intolerance and radicalism in Indonesia’s northern coastal regions highlights the importance of strengthening moderate religious values at the community level, particularly among women. This article aims to analyze the internalization of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja) values within northern coastal women’s communities as an effort to build an empathic society—a society rooted in empathy, tolerance, and moderation. This study employs a qualitative approach using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, positioning participants as active partners throughout the stages of problem identification, action planning, implementation, and reflection. The findings reveal that the internalization of Aswaja values through participatory religious education, social-religious literacy strengthening, and revitalization of coastal cultural traditions fosters collective awareness of empathy and tolerance. Coastal women play a strategic role as agents of social transformation who bridge Aswaja values with their socio-cultural realities. The study concludes that community-based reinforcement of Aswaja values serves as a fundamental strategy for fostering an inclusive, peaceful, and empatik society.
