Peer Reviewer Policy
Proses peer review is carried out to ensure the quality and substance of the articles in the published journals. This process is an objective process carried out by all scientific journals. Reviewers and Editors at the Medina Journal have an important role to ensure the continuity of this process with the following procedures:
First Evaluation. The editor conducts an initial evaluation of all newly submitted articles. At this stage, the Editor checks the scope of the journal, plagiarism, and writing rules. Articles that are far from the original provisions, may be rejected at this stage. Articles that pass the check will be sent to the Reviewer.
Type Peer Review. Madinah : Journal of Islamic Studies implements a double-blind review, that is, the author does not know who is reviewing and vice versa. This is done to maintain objectivity.
Plotting Reviewer. The reviewer's assignment to an article is based on the reviewer's field of expertise .
Reviewer Report . Reviewer Assigned to provide feedback/reviews on articles by considering originality, structure and flow of writing, code of ethics for scientific writing, ownership of clear results and support for what is concluded, references to relevant previous research. Grammatical corrections are not part of this process, but Reviewers are not prohibited from correcting grammar.
Processing Time Review. The length of the review process depends on the response given by each Reviewer. Medina implements a policy of giving a total of three (3) weeks to the Reviewer from the beginning of assignment. The reviewer's assignment may be diverted if they do not respond within one to three weeks. Reviewers can provide recommendations in the form of accepted articles, revised articles, or rejected articles. If there is a revision, the author will get a notification to make a revision, which is sent along with the Reviewer's comments via email. The results of the revision will be re-examined to ensure that the notes from the Reviewer have been properly implemented.
Final Report. A final report or decision in the form of an Article accepted or rejected Article will be sent to the author which may also contain several comments from the Reviewer or Editor.
Final Evaluation. Before an article is published, editors may submit a request for improvements to the grammar or images used in the article (if needed).
