Pengembangan Modul Ajar PAI Berbasis Kearifan Lokal Tradisi Kenduren Wonosalam

This study is motivated by issues in the field of education, namely the diminishing appreciation of local cultural values and the growing influence of radicalism in schools, particularly at the senior high school (SMA) level. To address these problems, the study aims to develop an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching module integrated with local wisdom values, specifically through the Kenduren Wonosalam tradition, which is rich in religious and social values. Additionally, the study seeks to assess the effectiveness of the implemented module. The research adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model by Thiagarajan, consisting of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Validation results indicate that the developed module meets feasibility standards, with scores of 80% from learning practice experts, 89% from subject matter experts, and 90% from module reviewers. To evaluate the module’s effectiveness, pre-tests and post-tests were conducted. In a small-scale trial, the average student score was 66.8%, which increased to 71.9% in a large-scale trial, showing a 5.1% improvement in student understanding. Student response surveys showed high engagement, with scores of 90.8% in the small-scale test and 94.42% in the large-scale test. The development of the PAI module based on the Kenduren Wonosalam tradition proved effective in enhancing students’ religious understanding while fostering appreciation for local culture
