The development of digital technology has driven changes in the government's public communication strategy, including through the use of visual media as a means of conveying information to the public. The use of visual media is considered important because it can increase communication effectiveness, clarify information, and attract public attention amidst the high flow of digital information and the spread of hoaxes. This study aims to analyze the role of visual media in public communication of government programs through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research method was carried out by identifying, selecting, and synthesizing scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar, Scopus, and Garuda based on predetermined inclusion criteria. The results of the review of 12 articles indicate that visual media has an important role in supporting government public communication. Visual media has been proven to increase public understanding of public information through the presentation of messages that are more attractive, simple, and easy to understand. In addition, visual media also contributes to increasing public participation and involvement through more interactive communication, especially through social media platforms. The research findings also show that the effectiveness of visual media is influenced by the quality of visual design, content management, and the selection of communication platforms that suit the characteristics of the audience. Thus, visual media serves not only as a means of disseminating information, but also as a communication strategy that can strengthen the relationship between government and the public, increase transparency, and support the success of public communication in the digital age.
