Manuscript Scope
Madinah: Jurnal Studi Islam publishes interdisciplinary research on Islamic thought and practices within coastal and inland Muslim communities. The journal welcomes both conceptual studies and contemporary empirical research, with a strong emphasis on the significance and novelty of the work.

All manuscripts will undergo a plagiarism check using detection software. The maximum allowable similarity index is 25%. Any manuscript exceeding this percentage will be automatically rejected.
Manuscript Length
The manuscript should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including the title, abstract, and references.
Language

Continuous Publishing
This journal applies a continuous publishing system, in which accepted articles are published online immediately after completing the peer-review process, without waiting for a specific issue.
Letter of Acceptance (LOA)
The Letter of Acceptance (LOA) will be sent after the manuscript has been declared ACCEPTED and the publication fee has been paid.
CONTENT GUIDELINES
These guidelines describe the expected structure and content of each section of the article in order to ensure that the manuscript meets the standards of a reputable journal.
Title
The title should strongly reflect the author’s original idea or findings. It must be concise, specific, and effective. Avoid titles that are merely descriptive, such as titles commonly used in research reports or theses.
For Field Research Articles:
The title must briefly contain three essential elements: the idea or finding, the significance of the findings, and the research object.
Example: The Contrastive Linguistic Method to Minimize Javanese Interference in Arabic Language Learning at Islamic Boarding Schools
For Conceptual Articles:
The title should not contain a specific method but should clearly and strongly reflect the significance and object of the analysis.
Example: Rethinking Tolerance in Classical Islamic Jurisprudence: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Contemporary Issues
Author’s Name and Affiliation
The author’s full name should be written without academic titles, followed by the author’s institutional affiliation, including city and country, and official email address. This information should be written in single spacing using Book Antiqua 12-point font.
Abstract
The abstract must be written in a single paragraph, single-spaced, and provided in both Indonesian and English. The abstract length must be between 150 and 300 words. It should contain a concise summary of the research objectives, the method used, the main findings, the novelty, and the contribution of the study.
Keywords
Keywords should consist of 3–5 words or phrases that reflect the manuscript’s main themes and are suitable for indexing.
Introduction
This section must provide a clear background and general context of the study. It should begin with the broad topic, followed by the state of the art or literature review, which discusses what is already known about the topic by citing relevant studies.
The introduction must also identify the research gap, which is the most crucial part of this section. It should clearly state the research questions and objectives and end with the significance or contribution of the study, explaining why the study matters and what it contributes to the field.
The introduction should not exceed 20% of the total manuscript length.
Method
For Field Research Articles:
The method section should describe the research design, participants or samples, data collection techniques, instruments used, and data analysis methods. This section should be detailed enough for the research to be replicable.
For Conceptual Articles:
The method section should describe the research approach and data sources, including the types of sources used. It should also explain the data collection and analysis techniques, such as content analysis, discourse analysis, or historical analysis. This demonstrates that the ideas are built systematically on a solid scholarly foundation, not merely on personal opinion.
This section should be concise but sufficient and should not exceed 15% of the manuscript.
Results and Discussion
The research findings should be presented clearly and logically. Tables, graphs, figures, images, or verbal descriptions may be used appropriately and interchangeably.
The discussion section aims to interpret the findings and answer the research questions. It must comprehensively link the research findings to existing scholarly knowledge by supporting, comparing, or contrasting the results with previous studies from reputable journals.
This section should also explain the theoretical and practical implications of the findings and demonstrate the article’s original contribution to the field.
The Results and Discussion section should not exceed 60% of the manuscript.
Conclusion
The conclusion section presents a summary of the main findings and directly answers the research questions stated in the introduction. In addition, it must formulate the implications of the findings, both theoretically and practically, and provide clear suggestions for future research.
Acknowledgment
If needed, the author may add appreciation or acknowledgments in this section.
References
All references cited in the text must be listed in the bibliography.
The majority of the references, preferably more than 80%, should come from reputable, indexed journals.
Authors are highly encouraged to use reference management applications such as Zotero or Mendeley to ensure citation accuracy.
Submission Attachments
Authors must attach the Author Self-Validation Table and the Turnitin result upon submission.
