Authors who publish in Al Furqan retain the copyright of their articles and grant the journal the right of first publication. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

What the licence allows

Anyone may copy, redistribute, adapt and build upon the article for any purpose, provided that:

  • Attribution: the original authors and the first publication in Al Furqan are credited, with a link to the licence and the article’s DOI, and any changes are indicated;
  • ShareAlike: adaptations are distributed under the same licence.

Authors’ rights

  • Authors may enter into separate, non-exclusive arrangements for distributing the published version (for example, posting it in an institutional repository or publishing it in a book), with acknowledgement of its first publication in this journal.
  • Authors are encouraged to share the preprint and accepted manuscript in repositories and on their websites, as this can lead to productive exchanges and earlier and greater citation.

Third-party material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce images, manuscript folios or other material owned by third parties, and for indicating any material not covered by the CC BY-SA licence.
