Post-Publication Discussion

Al Furqan welcomes scholarly discussion of articles after publication, in line with the COPE Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

How to comment on a published article

• Send your comment to the editorial office at alfurqan@iai-tabah.ac.id with the subject “Post-publication comment”, stating the article title, DOI and the specific point you wish to raise.
• Comments must be scholarly, evidence-based and courteous, and must be signed with your full name and affiliation. Anonymous or abusive messages are not considered.
• Declare any competing interest you may have with the article or its authors.

How comments are handled

1. The editor on duty acknowledges receipt within 7 working days and assesses whether the comment raises a substantive scholarly issue.
2. Substantive comments are forwarded to the corresponding author, who is invited to reply within 30 days.
3. With the agreement of the commenter, the editors may publish the comment and the author’s reply as a “Letter to the Editor” or “Comment and Reply” in a later issue, with its own DOI and a link to the original article.
4. If the discussion reveals an error, the journal issues a correction; if it reveals serious misconduct or unreliable findings, the case is handled under the Publication Ethics policy, which may lead to an expression of concern or retraction. Corrected and retracted articles remain online and are clearly marked.
